Smoke Free Latin Extravaganza 2006
The Smoke Free WA Latin Extravaganza 2006 at the Fremantle Terminal, the Opening Party of the Fremantle Festival, attracted an attendance of around 700 people consisting of a wide range of ages and ethnic backgrounds. Choreographer and dancer Miguel Angel Soto Figueroa put the show together for this total entertainment experience that gathered on stage more than 30 dancers from Fantasia Latina, Kuerazo, P. Arandia Tango School and Chile Nuevo Dance Group. Colmena and Sambalicious performed for the first time in WA exclusive to Smoke Free WA Latin Extravaganza 2006. The dance floor ambience was kept up by DJ Latinodance's flawless Latin rhythm selection till the early hours of the following day.
Winter Carnaval 2007
This highly awaited winter event gathered Latin and non-Latin performing groups to participate and work collaboratively in a music and dance fusion. The show involved young people and showcased the cultural similarities between Latin cultures in America and Spain, with performances by Fantasia Latina, our own prime dance group and guest dancers from Kuerazo and Spanish dancer Lin Matthews. Winter Carnaval 2007, held at the Embassy Ballroom, Carlisle was a sell out success, attracting an audience of 600+ consisting of a wide range of ages and ethnic backgrounds.
Arte Latino
Arte Latino 2007 was a success greatly due to Gloria Nanini's amazing efforts and organisational skills. Arte Latino 2007 gathered 20 community artists exhibiting multiple pieces of art form as varied as sculpture, oil and acrylic paint, photography, mixed media and metal embossing. Arte Latino 2007 took place at the Tresillian Community Arts Centre, Nedlands.
